Thousands of sketchbooks will be exhibited at galleries and museums as they make their way on tour across the country.
After the tour, all sketchbooks will enter into the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they will be barcoded and available for the public to view.
Anyone – from anywhere in the world – can be a part of the project.
(Well, for a $25 fee that is)

And from a Reddit forum post by boopboopbedoop, some interesting new words to describe themes in our culture:
1. Gnosticide (n): The destruction of knowledge on a mass scale.
- Modern examples of this are Mao’s burning of Chinese classical books; classical examples of this are the burning of the library of Alexandria; more liberal usages include the western disconnect from previous human knowledge that occurred during Europe’s dark ages.
- A more liberal usage would apply to the censoring of information on the internet.
2. Ratioclasm (n): The destruction or prohibition of rational discourse through either overt or covert anti-intellectual means.
- Overt: Through state policy, or simply violence. See: North Korea.
- Covert: Through the internalization of implications made in propaganda. “You talk like a fag and your shit’s all retarded.”
- A more liberal usage would apply to natural means, as well, such as mass panic in response to 9/11.
Uhh… wat?
